You can bust any trans with that much or less power. Tranny is.a.wear item. There are no forevers. Closest thing would be.some stock.sized injectors and tuning. It'll last much longer and be a pure bore to drive. Mod it, it will break.
It will really boil down to what Brian will warranty for me. If he'll gaurantee the 5r at my planned power levels then I'll give it a shot.
If he isnt comfortable with that(which he has already told me), then i'll go 4r.
thanks again guys.
Standing behind the trans is a given with Brian. The point is, when you're walking home with your truck sitting in a ditch behind you the choice will seem very pointless. Especially after your truck sits without a trans for a month or so a couple times, lol.
You'll come around to my way of thinking if you ever actually put down 600+ daily and actually use all of it often.

I understand what you're saying, and I appreciate your input, but get off your soapbox for a minute and realize that i'm only trying to determine the best course of action.
I've talked to Brian about it, and will certainly talk to him again at length when I decide to buy a trans.
No people hate Charles because he speaks the truth, no one wants to hear the truth, they're afraid of it. I don't know how much more clear cut it can get. Its like you're trying to cure cancer here.
nope
this
true.
but.
the op was asking about BRIANS 4r or BRIANS 5r, and which he should go with. as if our opinion mattered. then when we gave him it, he for some reason kept asking the same question, getting the same answer, and got a little attitude when it didn't change.
when the builder of the 2 trans in question, tells you he would rather not see his 5r put in the truck, for the reasons he gave, and would prefer you put in his 4r, for longevity/reliability reasons, why then continue asking us when the man himself has spoken.
it does not seem like he's after opinions though, he's after us to tell him which one to get so he does not have to make the decision himself, regardless what the builder says.
