I have a 2001 F-350 Superduty extended cab. Over the years I've managed to blow one and mess up the radio. My son has finally convinced me to replace the whole stock audio system with aftermaket stuff. The truck has four speakers total and can be replaced with either 6x8's or 5x7's and would like to add a sub. I would like to stick with pioneer products. Will I need an amp? If so which one? Do I need a box for the sub? Which single din radio is best suited for this? I'm looking for crisp sound with little to no distortion and good bass. What setup is best for this?

Everything totally depends on the budget you set.
Both of those size door speakers will fit
You will need an amp and box for the sub.
You can either get a mono amp for the sub alone and run the 4 door speakers off your headunit, or spend a bit more and get a 5 channel that will power the door speakers and sub.
Again, specific recommendations are totally dependent on your budget.
