Battery light

Battery light came on the other day. Scanned it with the mini and it said
Generator not charging terminal F

Checked the batteries. The one terminal was corroded so I changed it out and cleaned everything. Cleared the codes and a couple minutes later it came back. Truck starts and runs fine
Could it be the alternator going back and is it possible to swap to the HD alt

Did you check voltage at the batteries with it running? How did the cables look after you cleaned them. We see a lot that are about broken all the way thru or corroded to the poin t that the bottom half is missing.

The cable in self looked brand new after I cleaned it and changed the end. It was all surface corrosion on terminal end itself. I'm going to check the voltage at the batteries today. They should be around 14.8 when running? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

14.8 is kinda high. Check with another meter to confirm or through a scan tool to verify what the PCM is seeing.

Well checked the batteries. Both were 12.4_ while truck was off and both were 14.6 when truck was running. Tested the alt with the meter and it was all over the place

I don't have any problems with starting or lights dimming

Did you check the batteries with them disconnected from each other?

Check the 3 wire pigtail at the alternator for any issues. Could be kicking the light on cause of hi resistance or something.

There's nothing visible that is wrong with the 3 wire plug.
I'm not a electrical guy Is there something that could trigger the light to come on that wouldn't directly affect the alt or batteries?
