So i took the 8" lift off my truck and as of now its sitting on 6000lb coils, and I still have the add a leaf in the rear, it sits perfectly level now, I'm thinking about putting my 4800lb 5.4 coils in the front and pulling the rear add a leafs, and throwing some air bags in if needed, my worries are ride quality when on wash board and ruff mountain roads and hitting the bump stops.. any input will help thanks oh to you 5.4 coil guys how much lower does it sit vs.stock

Mine has a 2" level kit in the front and I was going to leave that in if I do 5.4 coils so it will have a stockish ride height and not bottom out but ride better.

Why would that be? It will be stockish ride height, and the coil will be under the same stress as it is in there by itself.

The coil will compress more then it would normally.. for example if you throw a 2" spacer it the coil will compress 2" further until it hits the bump stops

? the coil as a whole will be 2" shorter compressed but its not gonna break a spring. It it was a leaf being negatively arched I would say yes, my 6" superliftcrap broke in several places just from DD.

The coil spring will be find, if in doubt, call Deaver or a local spring guy and ask if a compressed coil spring will "break".
