Makes sense considering the code you were getting.

Just hope that it didn't starve your HPFP to the point that it will fail in next few thousand miles.

They are going to try and get by as cheap as possible, and jerk you around hoping the truck will trip 100K and go out of warranty. Sucks I know. You come up to the shop and Ill help you with that 7.3 swap. :poke:

Dealer called today and told me it was a bad lift pump.....

I can hardly believe that, but hope so...

could be for sure, if the pump quits working it acts like a shut off valve.

I am not convinced thats all thats wrong with it tho. sounds like they are starting simple...

Picked it up today, drove 15 miles and dropped into limp mode again....topped the first hill and the hard knocking was back. (I have some nice neat new things in the dash since the newest flash; "engine power reduced" and a neat little wrench light.....before I had the engine light.

Called dealer, they told me to try to limp it to the next town......sounds like they do not want to do the cab off chit there! lol

Drove it to where the job trailer is (where I am working later this week) and by the time I got here the knock was severe, truck acted like it wanted to run away from time to time (like its running on oil).

Now when you start it there is a harsh knock about three or four times, then it misses while idling.

NOT THE LPFP! :morons:

damn andy.. time for ford to step up this time... thats just about enough dancing around the full tear down... some dealerships suck, some dont. hopefully it goes to a dealership with tech's that have the desire to get it right.

I bet your wishing you would have keep the old 7.3.

I hope they get it fixed up for ya. But a 7.3 swap into that body would be cool.

Latest rumor is a bad HPFP. I fell for the LPFP, kinda skeptical about this, but I know how weird fuel starvation can sound.

But where is the oil leakage coming from, and how about the major fuel dilution in the oil???

I hope this fixes it....I need it to haul tools to NC next week!

Tired of the rental (F-150 gutless POS)
