Brake pedal cavitation

What would cause your brake pedal to pump up and vibrate randomly when stepping on it? When it does this, the rpms are slightly above idle or higher before pressing on the brakes. When it does this, there is no braking force until I get off the pedal and the rpms come all the way down to idle. Scares the **** outta me when this happens so the truck is parked until I can figure this out.

Mine used to do crazy stuff like that . I followed the hydro boost flush video on here and it fixed it right up . Pedals stiff and the brakes work amazing.
