Has anyone tried or have experience with the Bullet Proof Diesel Oil Cooler Half Kit?

http://www.bulletproofdiesel.com/product_p/90409000.htm#ReviewHeader

To help combat the gradual rising oil temps when towing, I thought installing this kit and and adding the oil cooler cleaning additive I could get in front of preventing high oil temps this summer.

I'll be installing a coolant filter so that should help filter out the garbage the coolant additive might loosen.

Any input would be appreciated...BTW I have a 2008 6.4.

Unfortunately my oil temps are starting to creep and based on how much I tow in the summer I'm not confident the high temps on the big hills will stay away.

How hot do they get and what kind of weight are we talking about? I have oil temp issues when grossing 30k plus or minus on long grades. By keeping the RPMs down staying in a higher gear I can keep them below 220 but it is a PIA and I have been considering the same kit. Looking forward to the responses you get.

From Dong's post, I realized I forgot to ask you what your ECTs were when the EOTs are getting hot. Mine usually only get to 205 plus or minus 5.

Running empty ECT 192 EOT 194 Summer
Towing quads 6k (weight of trailer and quads only)ECT 194 EOT 202
Towing Boat 13k )weight of boat and trailer only) ECT 197 EOT 207 slight hills.

When I hit the big hills...I live on the west coast of BC Canada, the temps get hotter EOT temp as hot as 220.

I never exceed 2500 RPM when towing and I'm running a Spartan 210 LL tune.

The temps don't look crazy, but as I originally posted the oil temps are creeping up vs last year.

Your temps aren't that bad. I towed my fifthwheel from Alta to Kelowna in 30-35C temps grossing close to 27,000lbs and my eot and ect were warm but not worryingly so.

10mile hill in the morning about 20C eot 218, ect 214
Rodgers and Kicking horse pulled at 35C eot 221, ect 215.

Engine fan didn't even kick in.

Pull some tune out of it and see what happens.

Your temps look pretty good if that's all the mods you have in your sig. Seems like the cause for high EOT would be the 210 Spartan tune. It might be safe to run but it's pretty hot isn't it? HS tow tune is 50 hp for the Hot Damn portion. Towed 15k in 100* in Texas hills with similar engine temps as yours. Also I've discovered recently what yall call "hills" are really mountains to a lot of people. Your cooling system might be fine. Maybe try turning down the tow tune.

RPM is the big cause of higher temps on long steep grades.
My temps are higher than that grossing in the 28 range.
Not too worried they follow each other.
Mine get in the 235 and 225 range, fan kicks in and cools down.
After the grades they drop pretty quick.
Unloaded if I am keeping the speed down the split is between 3 and 5.
