Burning smell

I have a 2016 6.7 with 23,000 miles and after a 3 hour trip I smell and it smells like a burning smell, sorta like it's breaking in. I also smell the same smell after I drive it kinda hard for 20-30 minutes. Is this something I should be concerned with??

i have the same smell but it is the new break in smell- truck only has 3k miles on it and never seen rain so the oily smell is still there. I say this- i know the other burning smell you are saying. The day i drove my truck home from the stealership- the truck had to have gone into regen and the burning smell was quite noticeable. I ******d it though a couple days later so that smell was gone.
It is just the "new" smell i have currently. I wouldn't be worried about it other than while it is running take a flash light and have a looksy over and under the engine.

I have it also, 4500 miles on truck and it smells everytime it regens...
