Camshaft Failure?

Has anyone herd of a camshaft failure on a 6.0 and if so what would cause it.

I just picked up an 03 6.0 to build for my truck and was told it was diagnosed with a camshaft failure. The engine still turns over fine but I haven't got around to tearing into it yet.

i seen Bad lifter clean out cam's.Good way to check,pull off both cyl.heads remove all roller lifters and check.only way to really check is to pull the cam.Bed plate and crank will need to be remove to pull cam out.

^x2, seen 6.0 lifters crap out a NUMBER of times, and take the cam out with it, along with the lpop

We have one in our shop now that were pretty sure dropped a lifter and killed the cam

Well I paid $500 for it, figured it would be a good for a rebuild project.
