I hope you haven't already drilled the pins in yet on the traction bars, that is the very last step you do when putting them on. Fixing the bar in place already with the truck set like that will but tension on the bar and will put the axle in a bind along with naking the pinion go up.

If you have already drilled them, you can take the pin out and then rotate the inner bar 90* and redrill the hole. This is to be done after everything is put together and the truck is sitting under its own weight.

Yeah i know. The bars were on from when I installed them with no overload rear spring and no block with 5.4 coils. I have to redrill it.

How hard is it to install a lift? Or take one off and reinstall it? I need to get mine repowdered

If you have access to a lift, and a set of tools, pneumatic or mechanical, its not hard. Just time consuming. Probably and afternoon to part of the evening if you get hung up. Its not alot harder w/o a lift. It is more awkward though, not being at chest height.

If you dont have the original instruction manual, take a bunch of pics whenver you do something. Better to do it as preventative measures before your stuck scratching your head.

I wouldn't attempt it without a fork lift if you don't have a lift... Even with a forklift and floor jacks it was still sketchy.

Looks good. Now drive to my house and let's go beat it upLOL

I haven't even driven it yet. Finished at 3 AM last night and I have to bleed the brakes because I changed the cables...

I have to go to LA soon. I'll bring it down and you can do the cab on studs (mike D said you are the pro hahaha) and you can beat on it all you want ahha. Deal?

You thought putting your lift on with jack stands was sketchy?

I had the whole truck on jack stands because I wanted to get the tires swapped over the weekend... The front end was up pretty damn high in order to clear the coil springs. Idk. I just had a bad feeling using 6 jack stands, 2 jacks, 1 forklift ...

hang the rear of the truck off the skid loader, and the front off the crane, and say that again.

use the tools you got, and make due. :D

Turns out King sent Carli the wrong spacers for the front shocks so that they are pretty much free to move sideways in their mount. New spacers should be here tomorrow so as soon as I get that installed i'll provide a full review for those interested.

Hopefully I can get the shock spacers thrown in tomorrow after work. I'm stuck at school today from 7:30 Am until 9:00 pm at night. :/ . Hopefully it drivers as bad ass as it looks.

My friend just got a go pro camera so I might have to do a video review...

Turns out another thing that I needed to do was shim the carrier bearing down about 1.25". This part was not included in the install and when I mentioned it to Carli they said I have been the only one they have heard that from... Great customer service on everything else and getting back to me. I suggested that they might include it as it is very cheap addition and makes the kit more complete.

I drove it around for a while and contacted Carli about ride quality not being up to my expectations and then Pat mentioned that tire pressure has a ton to do with it. I double checked my tires (just got them new and had them filled when they were mounted) and they were at 65 psi :/. Dropped them down to 40 all the way around and what a huge difference it makes. Bumps that I would hit with the lowered config that sent the truck skyward I can now hit at 60-75 mph in the throttle and hardly feel them. I'm so happy with the way the truck rides and give a ton of credit to Carli for doing their homework on the spring rates and shock configuration. My phone is dead and at home today. I'm going to try and get some pictures and do a full review for those that are thinking about doing this kit.

For now you will have to take my word for it (and this huge grin on my face).

One question I have is with what little research I've done on these kits. With the 2.5 pin top you bought why did you opt for coil springs when just a few hundred bucks more you could have gone with coil overs? Not knocking the route you went by any means but this is the only kit I've seen that its not an addition 1500-2000 bucks to up grade to coil overs it's only like 500 bucks I think

Just curious

The coil over kit from carli is almost 1k more and the is more then just swapping shocks and adding a spring.
The coil over from carli has you remove the factory spring and shock bucket... That's pretty much it, but it has the chance to get more expensive if one is leaning towards a more aggressive off-road capability (which I'm aiming for).

Like BFT said it was an extra $1000 for coil overs...I'm not doing heavy off road and what is a coil over? A coil with a shock inside of it..... The right coil and shock does the same thing to a certain extent. I love the way it rides and feel like the $700 upgrade I put in the full deaver leaf springs was a better choice.

Truck looks great. My buddy has similar lift for his 2500 dodge. I love how big they're lifts are. Meaning you get like 4" on a 2.5. Most lift companies are the other way around. You pay for 8 n get 6.5
