I found a pickup I was interested in without clearance lights which I am a fan of. I asked the dealer if they could install them and they said no not on the 2017's. Is this the case??

After removing and reinstalling mine I can kind of see why.
The hole cut in the roof is basically what holds the light in place. They basically snap into the roof.
It's a dumb design imo.
The screw is just to secure it in a way.

Have the dealer find you what you want or move on to another dealer.

I had the same issue. My dealer told me they are new lights for Ford and they have had an issue with them leaking. They also told me they were back ordered. The price they were asking was ridiculous. Build a truck online and the clearance lights are like $50 or $75 option. The dealership told me it would be $1200 to order and install. I took the money and added Amp steps since I got an XLT.

After reading another post about someone's moon roof leaking I am glad I got a truck with zero holes in my roof.
