I have a few things to finish up tomorrow. I still need the console lid and a piece for the open area in the front. Then I'll take it all apart and glue everything together and do some finishing touches like round off the edges and sanding.

Then I have to do is find someone to upholster it. :D

I didn't get squat done today... I spent half the day on the phone sorting out a hospital bill and paying other bills. On the up-side, an $800 hospital bill turned into $62.99 so I'm happy.

Here is what I managed to get done though.

I glued between each cut and clamped it to form. Once it dries I'll reinforce it with fiberglass on the inside.

I'm almost done with what I can do. After tomorrow I'll have a couple days off to complete it for once. Hopefully it doesn't take too long before its 100% with upholstery, subwoofer, and power outlets.

Thursday I'll fiberglass the lid and install the hinges, cut out a hole for the sub to sit in, add the power outlets and possibly carpet the storage compartment. I still don't know for sure how I'm going to incorporate a tablet, I have a few ideas in my head I just need to decide which one I want to go with. All in all I am very pleased with how it came out.

Looks good Kenny, can't wait to see the finished product!

Wanna build a box so I can have a sub behind my back seat? Me + woodworking = fail LOL

Thanks bud... I'm not much for woodworking myself. I hate it, I just figured i'd give it a shot rather than forking out the 2k I was quoted from multiple audio shops. You just gotta do it, if you take your time you could do just as good as a job as anyone.

On a side note, I found someone to upholster it but you all have to wait a bit because they are backed up until mid august. They said they could squeeze it in between other jobs though so I might get lucky.

Will the sub be firing down or back?

Just out of curiosity.... Why didn't you make the box a little bigger front to back and then it wouldn't have had to been so tall so you could maximize storage space.

It looks great and if your upholster hooks you up and does a good job you will be really pleased with it. I have seen an upholster take a great console and make it look like crap due to inexperience. Good luck and great work.
