The 08 f250 dash gage pegs to the hot and reduced eng power
Shows up. Truck not hot at all. Can the tstasts be sticking.
This the thrid time it does it but the second time in two days.
Do not know what actually fixed it but i disconnected the batteries
And the two plugs that go to the fire wall. Sometimes had to do it
Three times before it worked agian.
Any help or tips to solve this please.

If its not really hot it could be a short to ground in the temp sensor wire or in the sensor itself. Im not sure by your post weather its really hot or not. If the t-stats were stuck closed it would overheat.

Rivets are the new duct tape.

Thermostats on these things have been known as problematic. But usually with over a 100k+ on the clock. I've replaced them alot. But if the engines for sure cold when it happens then it's probably wiring or sensor. I've had ones I that show pegged hot, then you shut off the key and turn if back on and they read.normal.

Sent while hooked to something, somewhere, with my foot through the floor!

Mine started to act up just after 20,000 miles. It all depends on the radiators replaced, coolant level, truck ever got hot, etc. Mine just went bad for no reason.
Easy check is look at the EOT and ECT.
If they are not a consistent temp, as in they jump up and down, then the thermostats are bad.

Ok sct monitor showed temp @ 136 at first run.
Then parked the truck for three hours with 48* wheather
Out side and the next start up gage peged and showed 186*
On the sct monitor. Where would the temp senor be grounded
At. Or just a bad temp senor.

Ok i will check. If i remeber right there was 60* between the
Two temps. Water 194 oil 134 that when the gage was peged.
With a warm truck sitting for three hours at 46* out side. And
The next start up it peged.

I doubt its the cluster. Oil and coolant temps should almost always be the same .
