Dechrome or buy ptm?

Got my truck back from the detailer this afternoon, later in the evening I noticed a half dollar size spot of chrome gone. Question is, is it better to buy a new ptm or strip the surround I have(truck has chrome package) anyone have a white truck with the painted surround and kept the stock middle?

I'm really not sure what your asking, my truck has everything PTM. Are you talking about the grill?

Wordy I know, in prepping to paint does all the chrome need to come off especially if it is already flaking?

Sand it down real good and use a good primer, any decent body shop can do it.

If it were me, I'd buy a new one unless I could easily get all the chrome off. I'd be concerned if you didn't get it all that the chrome would bubble up again and mess the paint up.

thanks guys im going to go see my buddy at the body shop in the next day or two, and see what he says. Was going to try it myself but maybe a lil over my head on the body shop skills.
