Ive had this idea kicking around for a while now and finally decided to do it since my 185s needed a heck of a lot more fuel than the stock pump was capable of. I had a few 6L HFCMs laying around to play with, finding a spot to mount the pump was very easy. It took me a while to find all the fittings I wanted to make it was a clean and professional setup. I just got everything done tonight and it works great, holds 60-62psi @ wot at 4200rpm in 5th gear!

They are setup parallel. I think it will be a more reliable and better filtrating setup than an aftermarket pump & filters.

Mind telling how you wired everything up? Where did you grab those pushlock fittings for the stock connectors?

Also, is there a place to buy just the HFCM filter?

The second pump has its own harness, I grounded the pump to the frame and ran a relay off the battery with 10 gauge down to the pump. I tied into the factory pump harness and used the positive wire as a single wire to turn the relay on. The original pump still runs off the factory wiring. The fittings I ordered from summit racing. I would like to get a 180* fitting to replace one of the ones on the second pump because I dont like how the hose is routed, Also wish I went with different hose but I think it came out pretty good.

Im not sure where someone would get a single filter, fortunately for me I have a bunch of ford primary filters due to all the fuel pumps we replace at our shop (they come with a new primary).

Does this mean the truck is gonna see some more track times this season to test out the 185s.

What is your MPH at 4200rpm in 5th! LOL

Thats my first thought, unless Joe is talking TRUE 5th gear aka 4th/5th and not 6th OD. I know in my truck fuel pressure climbs back up once into OD so 4th/5th gear is where it's the lowest.

Definitely! April 2nd is opening night hopefully the snow keeps melting! 5th is 1:1. I wouldnt want to be in one of these trucks at 4200rpm in 6th gear, lol.

Awesome!! One of my goals this year is to make it up there more often. Pita driving up from Hartford but it's always a good night even just watching.

Lol yeah that would be a bit excessive. fastest Ive gone with it was 3500rpm in 6th, I think thats 135mph??

We need to get a new fuel pump in your truck! I'll have to put together a track day, its been a while since we've done one. Im hoping to atleast beat my times with the stock injectors & spray (12.68) this year on fuel. This 6.4 trans shifts real good, it might even take a little spray he hehe

Absolutely, I definitely like the setup and stock reliability vs messing with everything else.

Don't know if my truck can pass tech till I get a new bed, seems a new chunk is falling off almost everytime I drive it. But I would love to get up there for some track days even if I can't put down some blistering high 14second passes lol Although I have only done 1 pass (soft launch in jersey) since the PHP and blue spring, launch it a little harder than a 1.9x 60' and I might be able to get some better times.

damn, wish i was going to be back in time to meet up with you guys for a track day. and i like your fuel pump set up. Different since everyone does a big aftermarket and seems to do away with stock.

nice job! i have the 6.4 hfcm pump mod done to my truck(use the 6.4 as a pusher pump to the 6.0 pump), reliability is key for sure. I think you are the first one to do two 6.0 pumps? good deal. Only thing I did differently was run all new fuel lines, and a sump. Ran 1/2" supply and 3/8" return.

Thanks man! I've seen a lot of talk about it but no one did it figured I'd do it myself. Did you notice a difference running the 6.4 pump as a pusher? Sounds like a nice setup! I'm thinking about doing a sump and individual lines to the pumps. But 6an lines to the heads are first on my agenda

Not sure I buy that. (2) 10 micron filters before it reaches a 4 micron filter (the one on the motor) doesn't necessarily equate to being better filtering than the typical 2 micron filter post pump that guys run with the Fuelabs and Aeromotive pumps and those two 6.0 hfcm's are highly unlikely to outflow the amount of fuel being moved by a fuelab 41401/41402 like what most guys use as well.

It's still a cool setup and something to remember is just cause you see 62 psi at WOT doesn't necessarily mean 62 psi is optimal. Just some food for thought.

What is your MPH at 4200rpm in 5th! LOL

No kidding.

I'm running 2 parallel 6.0 pumps as well. I was tring to use the 6.4 piggyback setup in series but it is not a good setup without a regulated return. I have the bluespring and 6.4 banjo bolts. However the 6.4 housing makes a great spot for the 6.0 pump. So I changed my lines to parallel and Boom! Fuel pressure is great now! Stays above 50 at wot. Idle is 67. And when it does drop it climbs back up when your still at wot! Amazing. I just used the 6.4 harness and wired it up to my 6.0 harness. I'm also running 205/50s
