I want to do a egr delete on my 08 6.4 but supposedly New York may start emission testing on diesels. I don't want to remove and install the coolers every year. Do they make a kit that I don't need to remove the coolers ? and do you need a wastegate when running 300 + hp tunes. I read that ford opens the egr 25% at wide open throttle which helps drive pressure.

They make block off plates which are pretty simple to install and can be taken out for testing. Or you can run an h&s programmer to disable the egr system. No WG needed with stock turbos

You can run most of the big tunes with the egr still on, the tune just turns the egr off. I ran kem 345 for 30-40k miles with egr coolers on. My brother runs IDP tunes with the egr coolers still on with no issues. If you have sct or h&s tuners it asks if egr is on or removed during tuning. I don't have any experience with others.

i just did my delete and my truck is happy happy happy to have it gone.. the problem with tuning the egr to be off is that after awhile of the that it will stick shut and your truck will be a big paperweight until you buy a new egr
