engine swap need some answers

the blown up motor is a 18mm block and 18mm head.. the block im swapping is a 20mm block. can i use the stepper dowel pin and stick the with the 20mm side in the block and leave the 18mm sticking up to slide into the head?? if that way works i would need a 18mm gasket correct?

I don't see why it wouldnt.... can't say that I've heard of someone doing it though....

Never heard of doing it but I guess it could be done as well

Sounds correct. I've seen people do it the other way around and put 20mm dowel heads on 18mm dowel blocks, don't know why you couldn't switch it around.
