Does an exhaust resonator add to higher egt's, higher MPG's ? Non stock 4" down into a full 5". Resonators on the 5".

And, I am sure he is referring to a true resonator, like the FTE one. It shouldn't be anymore restrictive than a high flow muffler.

I have an fte resonator on 2 different trucks and saw no increase in egts or decrease in mpg but it is much quieter!

K, thanks. Sounds nice now, would like it a little louder. But I think I will wait till I hear a stright piped 7.3 in person. Resonator held on by clamps and small welds on each side, dont want to tke it off then have to put it back on if I dont like it unless is had any negative effects on the engine.

Straight pipe sounds like azz. Too much splattery sound to it, and is really no louder than a truck with 4" turbo back exhaust with a muffler.
