A "side thread" from my current project thread..

I created this little thread mainly for those who sit and search the internet like I once did, searching for pictures of PTM parts on their Super Duty trucks. Hopefully this will help those who wish to PTM the trim INSIDE and OUT on their PSD. enjoy!

My PSD just happens to be a Lariat Ultimate in Tuxedo Black, but I upgraded most of the trim to OEM Platinum-style exterior trim. After all, there really is not much of a huge difference between the fully loaded Lariat and the Platinum. Anyway, I sold my OEM Lariat chrome exterior and then I located some good condition exterior parts off of a 2013 Platinum model in Tux Black. I also called Ford and ordered a set of paintable mirror covers so that I could PTM and rid the truck of those ugly chrome capo. The Platinum front and rear bumper and grille assembly look great on my truck BUT that grille just bothered me for some reason! With that being said, I brought the grille, mirror caps, and all of the interior slate silver trim/bezel pieces over to a good friend who owns an auto body shop. I also had a set of Ford logo emblems (grille and tailgate) scuffed and sprayed in PPG base/clear black, and the letters were done in base red.

Pretty much all of these pieces look 400x better in person, but I tried my hardest with the iPhone :)

Anyway, I just got my trim back from the shop. Cheers!

More shots.. One of my new headlamp upgrade, more to come on that. You will also see how I had the grille refinished the first time, but that didn't last too long because the center stood out more than I thought.

I had the factory ones on and I did PlastiDip those, but I have since removed them for a set of FORD black step bars. Unfortunately, I don't have flaps and the damn Cooper Discoverer 35's shot stones in every direction; most of which were flying backwards and otherwise destroying the sides of the step bars :(

Now I am back in the market for steps... Maybe AMP? I am not sure yet.

Yeah that's a good point! I'd like to get my hands on a set of black steps as well. I was going to AMP steps but goes back to your point of gravel will kill the truck with AMP steps tucked away unless you put mudflaps.

Yeah, and we all know that mudflaps just don't seem to accent these trucks very well. I am in the market for some Toyo Open Country RT's in 35x13.50x20. I wonder how well they'll fit..
