Friends truck acting up..

Friend has a 2000 F450 with a 7.3 that came out of a international truck and he put his accessories on.. Past day or so between 1800-2500 RPM's it seems to have a 'miss' it revs up and down while in that range, not smooth.. below 1800 or above 2500 no problems. No codes thrown.

Any ideas? Running PHP tunes, unplugged the chip and it actually made the problem worse.

At any speed in that RPM range, or just above certain speeds? Auto or manual?

4R100(acting up). Any speed it seems. And no ICP data yet gotta get the genesys scanner over there and hook it up.

One thing I was thinking was possibly the torque converter on it's way out and locking and unlocking. I never paid attention to RPM's when mine did it, because I was always on the highway cruising and it would start acting up, but it would just rev up 500+ RPM's and then back down, and then back up. It wouldn't always throw a code either.
