it is similar to the Ipad? like can you pull up a virtual keyboard on it and type notes?

yes it has a virtual keyboard... its pretty much the same as an ipad... most tablets are pretty much the same now....

yah 300 with ground shipping.. if you want insurance that will be more.... its like 25 bucks just for the insurance on something that expensive...
