fuel filter setup

I had a idea.it might be stupid. It might of already been thought of. But I see people talking about there hpfp going out and it putting metal shaving Into the fuel rails. I was thinking, why couldn't someone make a filter to go after the hpfp? I know its high pressure, and it might be expensive to do. But it would be worth it to not wipe out a entire system. Anyone looked into doing something like this?

I haven't seen or read about a fuel system taking a motor out in quite a while.

Someone on the 6.7 page on Fb was talking about it taking out the fuel system. And it got me thinking
