So a close friend finally got his Dyno up and going this weekend so we figured we would warm it up by throwing the 6.4 on it. I saw this as a good time to compare my Xrace 3.01 tune and Gearhead Beta Race file...Both tunes are very dated at this point but regardless I was cool with the results and best of all we were able to show the consistency and accuracy of this dyno. These numbers are all uncorrected so don't be shocked by the "low" reading although I feel they are right on.

Like I said this is a new dyno so we did a lot of playing around with the driving, mph, and gears. Next round we will be able to read torque and ill also hit it with a .110 jet for fun :) ...those numbers will likely be corrected as we do have the weather box for the dyno ready to go now...that'll be a couple weeks out though.

The dyno used is a twin brake dyno dynamics 450lx....If anyone is looking for some back to back testing I'm your man LOL

Truck is my 08 with 100k miles
-Ported rails
-Dpc converter, firepunk/elite trans
-No-Limit intercooler and cac
-4" downpipe

Xrace - 12.92@104
GH Race - 13.01@104
7,850 pounds

whats your altitude? Do you know what your truck weighs?

I believe 1,000 ft above sea level, closest dyno we use is Fleece's and I believe they run a 1.05 correction factor.

My truck weighs 7,850 with me in it and a half tank of fuel.

numbers might need that little correction factor but its close either way. Most importantly tuning tool is dialed and you know if you make changes you have a place to go to see how effective they are

Were you running a dyno lock version of my tune?

I was not, this is a tune you emailed me over a year ago. I also did not run the dyno lock tune from Innovative. Like I said, priority for getting some time in on the dyno.

That's awesome! Trucks lookin good minky. Glad to see a comparison of the two back to back. Fwiw, my truck ran .2 faster at the track with my gearhead file when I tested them out back to back.

Yeah...we were gonna try the same in xrace but it takes a bit to switch from GH to Innovative... kinda a learning experience.

anyone suggest what gear to do the pull in? looking at josh's graph obvs 4th gear pull shows more power vs the od runs.

and thats kind of what we have seen from other dynos is when the pulls are done in OD the results are roughly 30hp less. I'm no expert so I'd love to hear best practices for dynoing these trucks aswell.

Nice numbers!

That's exactly what we find. Our older Xtreme Race is usually the quickest in the 1/4 mile, but dyno's slightly less. The Xtreme X dyno's better, but is slightly slower. Of course, the Xtreme X is very responsive, clean, and makes great power. I'd feel better spraying on the older Xtreme Race, it's heavy on the fuel but safer on the spray.

Keep up the good work.

Awesome, I know the 3.01 fuels very hard and it will be my tune of choice when the bottle goes on.
