I'm looking at changing the gears on my truck and need help picking a new ratio. The current ratio is 3.55 and i'm running 37" trail grapplers. What would the best choice be? 3.73 4:10 or something else? I generally dont tow more than 12k.

I'd like to get a little better mileage with the tires i have and get the gear/tire ratio back to within/close to factory spec.

You can calcuate any ratio if you know the tire size. In your truck, I think you said you have 3.55s. I believe the factory tires were 33". You can calculate what ratio it would take to get you back to factory configuration by the following (assuming you are now running 37":

37/33x3.55 = 3.98 So a 4.10 would put between 3.55 and 3.73 with 33" tires.

If you decide on 3:73s let me know. We could swap entire axles in a few hours, mine for yours
