I dropped my 08 F-350 off at Empire Diesel in Dubuque. They are going to install ARP Head Studs, Pushrods and Valve Springs. For now, this is all the work I am going to have done. But Id like to do some more work soon. I may have them do a 4 inch down pipe while they have the cab off. Any other suggestions for work I should do right now?

I would go ahead and have them remove the EGR if it's still on there. Down pipe is a good idea and also the passenger side IC pipe.

I have a full egr delete on this truck with no wastegate and I also installed a Flo-Pro CAC pipe. Im kind of thinking about the down pipe, some fuel system work and start to look into turbos. But how far can I push this truck before tranny work is a must?

If you're doing a downpipe and think you'll want a wastegate at some point you may have them weld on the wastegate tube while they are at it. It'll make adding a waste gate later a cab on job.

Turbos can be done cab on pretty easy if you don't want to fork over the cash now, but if you have any doubts about your HPFP, cab off is a good time.

Other cab-off items are manifolds and up-pipes if those are on your wish list.

I am going back in now and do a WG over the winter (collecting parts right now), but I really wish I would have done it the first time. Also, an upgraded valvetrain never hurts since you will have the heads off (I am also fixin to do that over the winter).

Id do lifters while the heads are out, esp if you have a higher mileage motor. The heads have to come off to replace them, and if one goes bad it will take out the motor. Just for a piece of mind.

How many miles are on your truck? Check the rocker arm tip pivots, they tend to wear really fast especially if the truck has been run hard or has heavier valve springs. If they don't move easily they are probably worn.

Down pipe is easiest now and fairly cheap. Id do that now. The turbos and hpfp can be changed easily with the cab on.

Manifold and up-pipes though can be done with the cab on, I highly do not reccomend it.

I agree the manifolds, turbos, and hpfp are not easy for The average joe! Sure there's guys out there that can whip it out but I would rather stand under my cab and do it!

On the back burner for now. I have paying jobs right that need to get done first:D gotta make money ro support my habit!

I have a manual lined out if I decide to go that way.

The dual pumps are also on the back burner until I get some quality time to spend on them.

As of right now only stock ones are available. Empire is working on some billet roller rockers.
