brand of batteries and deep cycles can affect the life expectancy. if you have something draining the batteries and then have large alternators charging quickly it can harm the batteries. also if heat blankets are missing and the hold down bolts are gone you will kill batteries. get a good name brand battery and do not get the high cranking amp models
(motorcraft, interstate, exide 650-750cca)

when i bought my 09 the oasis showed the batteries had been replaced earlier that year and i had it maybe nine months or so and it started having issues starting. tested and one battery was bad and must have drawn from the other battery so i had them both replaced. i couldn't believe the new batteries would have failed that quickly.

Thanks for you help on the ACTUAL problem

I think you should be cut off from the internet after 9 pm

You need to monitor the charging system, it sounds like the batteries are getting overcharged and boiling the batteries, maybe during the summer its not a huge deal as you dont need the most cranking power from the but you notice they are compromised in the winter.

You should never see the charging system above 15 volts, normal would be around 14.3 volts with good batteries.

Good way to monitor is a tuner if you have one

I went through the same thing. They were replaced under warranty and failed again. I replaced them with interstate batteries and haven't had a single issue. Not sure what the size is but there the same ones I run in my semis. Actual size is a lot bigger, they were a tight fit in the tray and the hold downs didn't work.

you went to a group 31 battery it sounds like, shouldnt really have to do that to make it work.

And fwiw just so you guys know the higher the CCA the less longevity the battery has. I realize that in some situations its nice to have a set of 850cca batteries but usually 750 is plenty

There should be under ford specific a pid for battery voltage

If not scroll outside of the ford specfic to b analog and there should be a pid there for battery voltage

Powerstrokers like to upgrade their trucks... why not the Batteries? Put in a pair of Optima Yellow Tops.

Optima's have been going down hill lately. Check and clean ALL your grounds and connections. Especially being up north the lower grounds on the block probably don't look the best.

Optimas are trash around here, you're lucky if they last 2 years in a diesel. Getting the better Motorcraft batteries works around here, I've put them in quite a few trucks now and I've got some 7.3's with 5-6 years on them.

If you're killing batteries you've got a charging issue. You need to test your alternator and check your cables and mounting points.
