going to look at 6.4 core for 2400$

found it on cl, guy does lots of 6.0 work but not much 6.4. He says it hydro locked but pulled the gp's, blew out the water and cranked it. Said it ran but egr cooler was blown, customer waited over a year to have him put new motor in it. With that said I can pretty well figure it has set with coolant in at least one cyl for over a year. It should still be worth 2400$ even if the block needs bored right?
Its complete from turbos to pan.

really,complete with turbos injectors and all? I just saw one on here with low compression for 2k and everyone seemed to think it was a good deal. I think all that was wrong with this was a egr cooler but who knows if the bores have set with coolant in them.
I dont need one right now just collecting parts for a reg cab when I find it!

I have bought threee complete motors the highest being $650 all of them were turbo to oil pan. One was missing some brackets and injector lines, WAYYYYY to high. I bought a couple from my local salavage yard, they were thier core returns

Im wondering that too. I saw the same thread where everybody thought 2k for that motor was a flat out steal. I have a core 6.4 here at my shop also, but Ill scarp the damn thing before Id take $600 for it.

Sounds like it could happen. There's a guy from where I am selling a complete working stock trans (20000 on it) with converter for 800. That would leave about 2200 to spend on a motor...

6.0 and 6.4 trans the same? I think they are, but Ive had a 06 5r for sale for almost a year at $1100 with converter that nobody seems to want.

I told the guy I would come look at it so I will, but will pass unless he comes way down being you guys have found them for this kind of price. The only ones I find are 4k and up, like I said I dont really need it just getting anxious I guess. I see turbos going for 650-1k on here and heads. guess it could be parted out for more but I wouldnt want to.
