Recently bought the 04 and it came with a fairly new Powermax turbo on it.

It does OK, but is there a better turbo for heavy towing. By heavy I mean 18K with wind drag.

I am running Matt's Tuning.

Get with Charlie from kcturbos. I have his stage 2 with 190/30 injectors and tow my 33ft fifths wheel that weighs 13.5k loaded. Hottest I've seen it get pulling a good size hill through new Mexico was 1200.

His 1.5 is awesome for towing. I have it, pulled my 12k+ 5th wheel great with 175/stock injectors.

190/75s in there now, probably gonna have to go bigger to keep things cool.

I love towing with my S362 setup, on stock sticks. I have a write up kicking around on it, literally cannot get it hot, even if I try. (EGT wise...). My camper isn't as heavy as your guys. 27' bumper puller, probably around 7,500 loaded up.

Ill second the kc stage 2 with 190/30s. Ive got a 38ft fifth wheel, an yhe only times i see 1200-1300 is when im not paying attention and get under the turbo in od. I hit tow/haul an the converter unlocks and temps drop down really quick.

I ran Charlie's stage 2 with 190/30's and then went with his 1.5 with the same 190/30's and both tow great I'm lifted on 35's with stock gearing so I prefer the 1.5 for the ability to tow at 70 in overdrive while keeping the turbo lit. My combo is grossing 23-25k lbs

Nothing at all just saying he would have the most experience with them, and be able to give more insight.

Look at you lurking on the army!

Lol I've been a long time lurker here, just post more over there

I'm sending another vote out for Charlie as well. Great products, and EXCELLENT service. I've had his Stg. 1.5 on stock sticks and loved it. Next month I go to 190/30s and am getting the KC Stg. 2.

Well most of them at least I went with the 68 stage 3 and went down to the stage 2 and now the stage 1.5 honestly the 2 had amazing mid range towing wouldn't ever let the temps get over 1100 climbing any hill as long as I was over 2k rpm with my trailer which I'm maxed out for my srw 1 ton. The stage 1.5 I prefer for my style of driving I am lifted on larger tires so I sit below 2k @ 70 which is what I usually tow at and the 1.5 will build max boost at 1700-1800 rpm with my truck. The 1.5 while climbing and holding a lower gear is a little warmer then the stage 2 with my 190/30 since the stage 2 could flow more air in the 2400-2800 rpm range but still never breaks 1200*
