How bad are they? If you have a truck equipped with them, do you regret buying a truck with them or do they get the job done?

I could care less for mine... I have to pump the brake at least once so it will actually stop when I start pressing the brake otherwise it goes like half way before it starts stopping. I don't know if that's how they're supposed to be or not cause it's my first super duty & bought it used with 15k. I hope it's something fixable

Aren't all superdutys hydroboost? My obs is vacuum and it will stop just as quick as my superduty.

2011 and 2012 250s come with vacuum brakes. Not sure, but I think they went back to hydroboost with the 2013 250s. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I am pretty sure it was a job2 change on the 350s. Mine has vacuum boost. It works, just feels kind of spongy. I want to get some braided brake lines, hoping that will help.

There was a day this douchbag whipped in front of me and stomped on her brakes completely oblivious to the 9000# truck that was about to eat her car.

I had both feet on the brakes pushing for all I was worth, the truck got closer, her bumper disappeared, the trunk disappeared and by the time it was all over all I could see was the roof of her car.

The truck just squatted down and did it's level best to keep from running over the idiot. No squeeling, no shimmy, no funny movements. The brakes and antilock system do work...luckily for douchbag.

My 2012 f350 is vacuum brakes...

They work fine no complaints. Power steering works better than anything I have ever owned. 13.5 wide tires one finger turns stopped no problems

Thanks for the replies. I test drove the truck today and the brakes felt pretty good. Just wondering how they will feel when 16k worth of gooseneck is sitting behind it.

Towing two race trucks on a 35 foot goose my truck felt solid in the braking department

Towing the head to head back to Pennsylvania with a ground short (had no brakes at times on the trailer) it did surprisingly better than my 350 6.4! But I have the 2012 f250.. Don't know if its different I think they work phenomenal!!

The one thing I will say is they don't do that bull shiz when you rev passed 3k and need brakes they don't get a hard pedal for a few seconds, both my 6.4s have scared the ship out of me a couple times.

That's different. On my 13 platinum the brakes work TOO well. I might touch the pedal with the weight of my shoe, and it throws everyone foward.... I thought about bleeding them and purposely putting a little air in the system lol

I think the 13's went back to hydro boost breaks didn't they? I know my 11 F-350 has hydro boost and it will slow down as hard as the tires can grip.

I think I would prefer vac. I've had a couple times where I had to jump on the brakes coming from WOT and there was a moment where I had a rock hard pedal and no brakes and THEN it would brake.

I've also had it where I was really hard on the brakes and the power steering wouldn't assist.

I'm talking a split second type deal, but it's discomforting when it happens. I'd rather have the two not be linked

Most equipment run brakes all on their own system for good reason I would think
