Headstuds at 60k miles??

We lack good diesel shops around here. My buddy took his Excursion to them and they did a stud job on it. It looked fantastic and ran like a drag truck after they were done with it. I've talked to Dillon a few times and meet up with him at the shop once. They are very knowledgeable with strokers and he eased a lot of my 6 leaker fears!

Well I got a call from the shop yesterday. He informed me I already had headstuds. They must have been put in by Ford the last time it blew a gasket. I'm thankful to have found an awesome shop to start using. They could have been dishonest with me and made some money but Dillion was honest with me. It's dumb of me for assuming but I never even looked close enough to see if it was studded. I just assumed it wasn't. This means more money for different parts!

to be honest, what is informative about a 6.0 getting head-studs and the basic reliability fixes again?! -not like its a groundbreaking news or anything. carry on...

He has taken care of me so far. This thread started as an opinion thread. Since there isn't an official place for "opinions" then I figured this would be an appropriate spot. Headstuds on a 6.0 aren't ground breaking, you're correct, but they are aftermarket and that is the title of this thread section.

I'd get Studs done now while everything else is getting done if it were me.


2005 F250 6.0 powerstroke, 6 speed manual, egr delete, arp head studs, new oil cooler, aftermarket coolant filter, custom intake, 4" down pipe into dual 6" stacks, 8" lift, TSD super panty dropper tune.

Wow man. Way to be a smartazz to a guy who was agreeing with you and giving recognition to a company who treated you right. Obviously Sootie was agreeing with your previous post about the shop doing your studs being a good honest shop. I just don't see how his comment warranted your response.

Hey man! I literally couldn't be happier with the customer service I received. When I paid the bill there were no hidden charges an everything was priced just like you said it would be. I've found my shop of choice from now on. Now I need those cab lights put on!........ Thanks again buddy!
