Ok I never post, just read most of the time. I have a 2010 F250 H&S,S&B,5" sight pipe. I do not run it hard a lot just some quick bast and a burnout sometimes but it is a xl  single track it spins at wide open throttle if it is not above 45mph. I run it on the 250 tune and have it set to defuel at 45psi and 1450 on the egts. Today I come out of town and a dirtymaxx was on my bumper I stopped at a light and U-turned to go back to the shop. He followed me back up the 4 line. It was a kid he kicked it beside me at around 40mph so I kicked it it started to spin hard for about 50' and pulled away. I held it at wide open around a 1/8 mile and the alarm went of on the H&S it hit 1476 on the egt but I already had the maxx by 6 trucks. I lifted and the egts went right back down it runs around 600 at cruise 65mph it jumps over 1000 at wide open in just a few seconds. This my be normal but in most of the post I read this is high. Don't get me wrong it is a sleeper runs like a beast.:D:D

Back when I ran H&S files I noticed significantly higher EGTs running the 250 tune compared to the HD300. The 300 ran cooler. With that said, I had my defuel set at 1550 degrees back then and I used to hit that during a hard run.

I dont even really look at egts if it is just a short blast. Be more worried about them towing a steep grade or that for a sustained amount of time.

Thanks guys just checking that is good to hear. Would you run the 300 tune with no head studs. I don't run it hard if it is not warm at 180 are higher.

I ran the HD300 for months before I did studs. My buddy is still running it months later without studs. There's no real definitive answer as to what power level is safe. There's so many variables.
