I am hearing that it is possible that daily driving high HP clean tuning is possibly bad due to excessive timing used to clean the tune up??? I run Gearhead Race daily. I am studded with all the needed goodies but makes me worry about what I am hearing. Should I switch back to a "smokier" tune? This sounds stupid to even type I swear I have heard so many good things about this tuning. I don't want to bash anyone either, just want some opinions. I don't beat on the truck but daily driving with too much timing is a bad thing I am thinking. Anyone have experience DD'ing these high hp tunes for long periods of time? I'm at 92K but I want to see way more than that without major failure due to crazy timing and I do NOT beat on the truck. I know tuning questions have been beat to death on these forums BUT this is the first I have heard about "clean" tuning using too much timing.

thats a bunch of BS

many many other things go into clean tuning-not timing. e.g. fuel/boost ratio etc

you made a great choice with Gearhead race.

smoke is wasted fuel, extra egts and gives diesels a bad rep.

I tow anything between 3k and 25k. Just keep a closer eye on temps when pulling heavier loads but still no issues to date. And I don't drive like an idiot either. Gotta be responsible for my own actions LOL

I DD GH race tune and have no concerns. I will say that due to the timing and my stock rods, I would not tow heavy (over 10k) with a race tune from anyone unless the fuel was cut back or timing was cut back in the lower RPMs. Its not a concern for the temps (for me as much as the torque it will make down low).
