How much shaft play is okay?

I have a d-leted 2011 f250 with the stock turbo and I removed the intake and when I turned the blades the shaft has some play in it. I would say about 1 mm. It doesn't rub but has been making some weird noises lately and my performance has gone down lately. I swear I heard a tinking noise from the piping when I had it running and the hood raised yesterday. So is that much play okay or should it be changed asap?

In and out play is bad, side to side is okay until it contacts the housing.

it actually doesn't move in and out.
