I just picked up a 09 F250 CCSB and there seems to be a problem with the brake controller. The trailer lights and turn signals work fine but the brakes themselves will not work and the truck either displays "No Trailer" or "Trailer Disconnected.". Any ideas?
IBC says trailer disconnected.

there are a few fuses related to trailer brakes, and the controller.
and take the controller out of the dash, and wiggle the wires behind it. this fixed mine.
if nothing simple fixes it, the controller itself is pretty cheap from ford.

Make sure the ball and inside the coupler are real clean , no rust . Do not use a stainless steel ball . For some reason the stainless id not as good of a ground .
