Haha, no not yet. It's too dark and cold when I get home from work every night... This time tomorrow, I'll be pulling into my dads garage to do it though. This is my busy time of year so I can't really pull myself away from work during our normal hours when its not freezing outside... The thought has crossed my mind to do it in the parking lot up here at work though.

That thought crossed my mind when I was doing mine. It took alot of force to collapse them.

When you get done putting you're shocks on, your more than welcome to come install these ALA's for me.

I was thinking about that. I'm thinking of going and buying a brand new un-abused set to put my mind at ease. I always just buy the cheapo ones cause I've never used them for anything like this.

Is there some trick to gettin the shock onto the bolt that sticks out for the upper mount on the rear shocks? I'm having hell getting them to get on there!

Sometimes you have to take some emery cloth to it (sand paper). There can sometimes be a little lip that mushrooms out when the factory nut gets tightened down.

Got all 4 on and just got home.

First impression is I'm a little less impressed than I would've thought, honestly. They are better, but I think I need to play with the settings some. My plan is to adjust them all the way to softest and then back just a few clicks and see what that does for me.

Already got it all typed in the notes section of my phone.

Here's some pics of them though.

can't be much different than tuning suspension for the bikes and sleds i work on.

adjust them all the way soft and drive it for a day. adjust them all the way stiff and drive it for a day.

let yourself know what the extremes are, and then go from there.

even if you are somewhere in the middle, its always nice to know what your extremes are.

I may try going to the extremes eventually, but for now, I started at all the way soft and I'm going from there.

The shocks have 20 different clicks on both of the adjusters. Both of them say hard is one way and soft is the other. When I got em, I figured that closer to soft would be the best and up until today I stuck to that. Today I adjusted them up to 9 clicks from soft on the top knob and 7 on the bottom knob.

This alone has made a big difference, but I still think they've got more in them. I just turned both 2 clicks harder and I'll see how they do in the morning on my way into work.

One thing that would be helpful is if I knew if they were both compression adjusters or if one was rebound so I may call and talk with someone at Icon in the morning unless someone on here knows. I know most bypasses have the rebound up high and compression down low but both being labeled hard and soft is throwin me off.

I'm tryin to stay objective and avoid the over sensationalizing that sometimes happens on forums. But overall, I'm more satisfied than I was on the first day, but right now I'm not sure if they were worth the $$. Hopefully I can get them figured out and be happy with em.

So how are you liking these? Anything you would have done differently?

Once I got them tuned, I could really see the difference. Due to a little mishap on my part, I had a time to drive with a 2.0 on one side of the front and one of the Omegas on the other. With it like that, I could REALLY tell how much more dampening power they have. Now, I'm about 95% sure the bypasses were just overkill for me. I got them tuned, and they rode really nice, but I couldn't help wondering if I would've been just as happy with the off the shelf non adjustable 2.5s. I wouldn't completely say I wouldn't buy the Omegas again, but I would probably be more likely to buy a regular 2.5 first just to see how they compare right off the shelf.

For my new truck, I've got a set of bilstein 5160's ready to go on for now. Not that that should say something negative about the Icons, but 1) My wallet still hurts from buying the truck and 2) I'm curious how they compare to the Icon's and if we're paying a premium just for the Icon name at this point.

Curious on how you're gonna like the 5160s. They might be next for me. Except they even hurt my pockets compared to 5100 LOL
