the way i understand it is it needs to unlock for certain shifts to not break internals, so to keep from locking/unlocking all the time, its alot easier on things to just leave it unlocked.

life of the tc will go up.

as i understand it. could have misinterpreted the explanation though.

I aint an auto tranny guy, but also isn't the 2 to 3 and 3 to 5 shift complicated...its not just synching in those shifts? I can't remember the details though.

I have Gearhead tuning in my truck, both engine and trans files. Right now I have my own tweaked version of the HD300 paired with gear heads trans tunes and it is awesome. Lots of power and when you step on the skinny pedal from a stop I goes to second and locks the TC and keeps it lock all the way up thru 5th. I think my trans likes that better than 3/4 throttle acceleration. And it's on a stock trans (. As far as I can tell stock, holding up so good I'm starting to think otherwise) and I don't feel it slipping or anything funky like that. But I second Gearhead for clean powerful tunes. But I also like innovative but I only ran them on my 6.0 and they ran good on that truck

:whs: Even when your not a customer yet and just want questions answered. Those guys take the time to tell you what's what. I put a 6 pos in a 7.3 and they explained to me why paying extra for tuning beyond a TS on a stock truck isn't even worth it. Could have made money but put up the truth instead....

I'll second that , they have been awesome for me as well , called a couple different times with questions and are so helpful. I'm getting gearhead tunes next week
