Installing factory keyless entry in an XLT

I just recently bought a 06 regular cab F350. Since it has power windows and locks I assumed it had keyless entry. I went to Ford and bought a new fob. I tried doing the programming ritual but when I finished my doors didn't lock/unlock.

My question is what do I need to get to make it a keyless entry truck? I did a search and it seems like most people just get an aftermarket kit with remote start but I want to use the factory Ford fob.

Has anyone retrofitted their truck with a factory keyless entry set up? Any help is appreciated.

If you have power locks it should work with a factory fob.

I've already tried that and it didn't work. The way to tell if your truck originally had keyless entry is to put the key in the ignition and turn it on and off 8 times ending in the on position. If you originally had keyless entry and are just missing the fob the door locks will cycle. Mine doesn't do that.
