I have 2013 fully ******d ***/EGR H&S with a S&B intake. I have questions about the NO Limit intake being an open system. I know its not comparing Apples to Apples but I tried to mimic the open system by pulling both the secondary Air port and the clear plastic cover to the intake. So essentially my filter was completely open just sitting in the box. I noticed that while i was sitting in traffic my intake temps were reaching 130 plus degrees F. Also while driving between 50-80MPH my intake temps were still in the 110-120 range.
I live in South Texas and right know ambient temperature is around 93-98 degrees F. Are these numbers getting to and could they possibly cause a problem. I still have the stock plastic inter cooler pipe, but will be switching out for the H&S one soon. Does the No Limit see that high of increase above ambient temps. Another reason I pulled the crappy clear plastic cover off was I get way better throttle response than when its on. I'm thinking of making the of making the switch to the NO Limit intake just wanted to know what kind of intake temps everyone was seeing and how much do i need to worry about it. I know a lot of guys on here really like the No Limit, and any advice or comments are much appreciated.

absolutely no problem, the only time you will EVER see any noticeable difference is at idle, and even then it would NEVER be noticeable on a dyno . the performance difference from the no limit and the s&b is staggering. open box with a much bigger filter has proven to smash the closed box system time and time again .

What Mike said. You'll see the temp rise for IAT with the No Limit at idle, but once you start moving it goes down immediately. It's nothing to worry about.
I ran the S&B before buying the No Limit. The drivability improvement and low end throttle response from a cold air intake change is pretty awesome. Buy it and don't look back OP. You'll be glad you did.

Once you are above 20-30MPH you will only pull in the outside air. I don't know of anyone making a setup that will cool the incoming air below OAT.

Kind of besides the point, but even with a "closed cold air intake" the "cold" air being sucked in through the compressor is just going to heat up since it is being compressed.

I'm pretty sure the only time a true CAI counts is on a N/A engine.

Thanks for the input fellas! Looks like the best option is the No Limit and never look back. Just need to put a little money aside so i can do the H&S intercooler pipe upgrade and the No limit intake at the same time.

It's been right about 100 here the past few days....I don't watch iat's but I haven't noticed one bit of difference in the way the truck runs.
