Number 2 cylinder has no compression. Huge amount of blowby, smoke and throwing number 2 contribution code. I pulled the injector (it's brand new, maybe somebody tryin to fix it) and looked inside with a borescope. Piston looks to be intact. High pressure turbo looks to be shot also. Looks like I will be doing new pistons and turbos. I gotta go budget on this truck. What should I get? Don't know a lot about 6.4s. I will be doing all the work myself. It's been DPF deleted, but the tuner didn't come with it. Egr stuff is still in place. Looks like some kid or redneck owned it before. Had stacks at one time, but they chopped them off right under the cab. What's left looked to be a really nice stainless exhaust at one time.
I also have an 06 6.0 that I have a done a few small mods on. When I get the 6.4 fixed, I will have to sell one of em. Cant afford to keep two. I really like my 06, so this 6.4 will have to be really good to make the cut. I have Innovative tunes, 5" exhaust, 03 turbo, tuned FICM, 6" lift and 35s on my 6.0. It has new paint. It's a lariat with almost every option. Has a ton of miles, but I swapped in an engine that only has 100k. Body is real straight. I know that it does nothing for performance, but I love the way it sounds. Is there a turbo setup for 6.4s that sounds as good as an old 6.0? I plan to get it running and drive it a little while, then make a decision on which one to keep. The 6.4 is a CCLB with a 6" lift and 37s. Has a really gaudy road armor front bumper. It is a lariat also but it doesn't have few options that my 06 has, such as heated seats, up fitter switches, and power back glass. It is scratched up a little bit. I really like the newer interior and front end of the 08.
