Has anyone had problems with a button or multiple buttons not working on their key pad. I used mine quite frequently over the summer, went to use it the other day and was almost locked out of my truck. Now it wont work at all. Anyone have any ideas or know how to fix it? I assume ill have to get a new key pad?

Typically, in my experience the keypad is usually defective.

And the code for the pad is stored in the SJB so you won't have to worry about a new code.

The keypad is most likely bad, and it should be pretty easy to change. Usually you just pop the door panel (with the window up), and there will be two nuts holding it on. Just make sure you route the new harness the same as the old one - use all the same push pin holes, or you may have window interference.

Are all the factory keypads the same(mainly for size)... At least from the same era of Ford. Or are the Super Dutys one size and Expeditions another?

I had a few buttons on mine quit working, ended up being broken wires in the wire harness in the door jam.

kinda hijack, but not really.

when you buy a truck, and the PO, used dealer, does not know the code, where can a code be found, or a reset code to be able to use my own code.

i want to be able to use the keypad, and currently am unable.

Easiest way is to have Ford get it with their computer.

Give a ford dealership your vin, and they can look it up.

I didnt think they did that anymore.... i thought they gave you a card with it in the owners book thingy and you'll need your I.D. and registration i believe to get it from the dealer by V.I.N. just adding onto what was already said. Hope it helps.
