lack of boost..

Getting ready to install the 72 tomorrow but in the mean time with my stock huffers I can't seem to push em over 40-42 psi. My buddy with less mods does better than that. What the heck could be the problem here you think?

Hmm, maybe there all just a bit different. My buddy runs the hd300 with stock intake and a delete pipe and can push 45. Just hoping I don't have something wrong cause if I'm not push in the stocker as hard as ittl go then I won't see a gain with the 72...

Well I figure if there was a problem now like lack of fuel or a leak on the drive side that was keeping me from maxing out my stock unit then it wouldn't push the 72 any harder. Seems I've been hearing guys make boost in the 50+- psi range with stockers and I'm making 40...

Running a custom Gearhead motor and trans file. Runs solid. Just seemed like it should push harder then 40-42 with everything I've done..

hard to tell. each truck is different. i think i was seeing 45-48 on stockers with gearhead race tune. i remember i got a free looney tune from vivian and that ***er would make my truck boost to 50-53 and that wasnt even wot.

Well then where the heck is my missing 15+ at? Could explain why I was complaining when I got my Gearhead file.. everyone said it was like the HD300 on NOS so I buy it and it wasn't any faster. Perhaps I'm broken..

i was seeing 50-55psi was the highest i ever hit on my spartan 350, 310 was about the same, now with my h&s 300 im seeing about what your at 42-45

I might have to try that. Seems some guys are pushin in the 40s and others in the 50s.. what the heck.

Turners build power differently. Too many variables. Timing, Vgt duty cycle, pulse width. They all do it a little differently. Just because you're not hitting the same boost level as brand X doesn't mean anything is wrong. The file is just different.

42 is normal, going beyond that is just pushing the stock turbos past their efficiency range. More boost does not always equal more power, if your not gaining any CFM your not likely to gain much power past 42 lbs of boost on the stock turbos.

I can hit 54 with the hd300 in my shortbed dually. All it has is no limit piping and intake. Plus an egr and dpf delete.

My brothers can hit 56 with stock turbos and hd300 but his trans is slipping now.

Mine is too. Getting hard to get much past 50psi now.
