Ford has said the new ck-4 motor oils is not recommended for the older powerstrokes. do you guys have any insight on this. thank you anyone

What the auto parts stores are saying the old LE cj-4 will be available once the inventory has been depleted.

Same rule goes for low sulfur to ultra low sulphur..... the older models need more lubricity..... newer metal compounds and builds don't need it...... but some of the newer builds won't flow the older grade oils

I had ran Delo for years. After the CK4 stuff came out I went with LE oil. A 5 gallon pail shipped to my door was cheaper than buying delo in a 5 gallon pail. They have a 1540 that is staying CJ4. LE is a vendor here as well as many happy customers.

I went with the 8700. Should be at the house when I get back. This is the oil that is staying cj4. If you have any questions about oils, just give Jim a call. He is awesome to talk to.

We do have the 8700 and 8730 which are remaining CJ4. 8800, 8854, and 8130 are all now CK4, and Fords new F1 spec. So, more or less all of outlet oils are Ford compliant.

I run Jim's 8800 in my 01 Excursion, and after I replace the injectors in my 02 350 it will be getting it also.

As soon as I deplete my Delo stock (1 oil change ) I'm calling Jim for some CJ 15w40. Maybe Jim could persuade LE to make some gallon jugs.

Tried and failed. Can't be perfect I guess. 2 gallon jugs is the closest I'll get.

Shouldn't International be making that recommendation instead of Ford since they built the engine (7.3, 6.0 and 6.4)? Ford could recommend whatever oil they want for the 6.7.

LE is on there. Monolec ultra engine oil in both 5/40 and 15/40. In the 15/40 its right above motorcraft...

I missed it the first time too. I will say my truck, even though its a 6.0 instead of a 7.3, runs a lot better on the LE vs the motorcraft.

My family and I have been running Rotella since the mid 90's..... I swapped to T5 when I got my 08 6.4.........

Personally, I won't use Rotella in my lawnmower.

And most of your 1000+ hp marine diesels and reduction gears...... use either Rotella or Delvac....... most oil changes are done every 500 to 750 hrs on engines....... reduction gears are every 5000 hrs or 12 months...... and that's with most engines turning 1800-2200 non-stop..... avg temp is 190-210 coolant...... engine room temp is 250/300 degrees during mid day....... day what you want about Rotella, but I've seen it in action for 17 hrs on river boats

But in a HEUI engine, it shears like you are cutting paper with a pair of scissors.

While it may be a pretty good lubricant, it's a crappy hydraulic fluid. To work in our engines, it must do both jobs well.
