hi guys, I have a f350 that is lifted on some 40 inch toyo mud terrains. I have the intake/exhaust/egr and gear head tuning on the truck but currently am running the stock 3:73 gears. What gear ratio would you all recommend for this tire size? I was thinking 4:30's but searching around I have seen some folks say 4:56. I dont plan to run any smaller of a tire. It is a DD and long trip vehicle 3-4 times per year, any help would be appreciated. thank you!

I run 4.30s with my lifted 7.3 running on 35s. It does limit my top end, but I drive like a grandpa, 65/70 max. Pulls like a beast off road. If you aren't gonna do hard offroading 4.30s should work. Depends on your engine. I think the newer 6.0s and 6.4 rev higher than the 7.3.

A friend of mine has a 99 350 on 40s he has 4.56 gears. Drives like a stock truck. But on intestate it revs a bit much for me. I would think 4.30 would be perfect.
