Because of the inceased cost and no real end in sight. I was looking online for fuel and oil filters for my 6.4 PSD. I found the LITTLE POWER SHOP " they are one of the dealers here in PSA.com.
They have Black Diamond " there brand " filters. Oil filter is like $6.49 and fuel filters are like 26.99.
Has anyone used these filters and how well do they hold up compaired to Ford MotorCraft Filters.
ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS??????

i save a couple bucks on buying racor instead of motorcraft but i wont buy an unknown brand until they offer oil tests on their product.

the aftermarket filters on the airdog run about 25 bucks for the set so im pretty happy about that.

Dieselfilters online is hard to beat. They sell the motorcraft and racor (who makes the motorcraft), and you get a discount for bulk orders.

I haven't tried the ones you are mentioning though, but I did recently help troubleshoot a 6.4 with a shot hp fuel pump. He ended up changing pump, all injectors, and a full system cleaning. Rust found on several components in the system. You don't want to know the price.

And I wanted to take a picture of the water separator filter he was running, but he wouldn't let me. Don't know what brand, but it didn't have the cotton sock on the lower filter.

Using an aftermarket fuel filter to save a few $ is a gamble I can't afford to take.

LOL racor is just parker. If you have a buddy who works in fluid couplings, just give him the PN and have him buy you a few. They're only about 11/ea ;)

I've seen this before...more than likely a house brand filter from a local auto parts store. When I was working at O'Reilly's, their in-house filter brand didn't have the cotton sock like the Wix option and Motorcraft filter.

Thanks guys. The problems that you run into using aftermarket is a nightmare. I guess I will just stick with good old MotorCraft.
