Late 99 7.3 lookin for best option for drop in turbo. Have stock injectors but might move up to small single shots at some point. Tow a lot with it. Thanks for any input

I beat on my 38r with stage 3 hybrids. I will say that is one heck of a drop in turbo

I was rough on a38r with 238/200's, as long as the wastegate is set right and your not hitting 50psi they're great. With 160/100's it should last forever.

38r and you wont be disappointed as long as the whistle is okay with you.. Intake makes a difference in noise depending on what one you go with.

I'm also looking into turbo options. I'm wanting to go with a php hydra chip and At 230k I'm also wanting to upgrade up pipes, down pipe and inter cooler piping. If I were to go with a t4 setup, which turbo would be best suited for stock injectors? I have reg return and s&b intake.

For stock sticks, probably s364sxe or a BASB, maybe even a 362

06-6.0l, studded, reworked heads, egr ******, blue spring mod, 6.4 banjos, dummy plugs, stand pipe, upgraded stc fitting, New oil cooler, New ipr, New icp, atlas 40 FICM, stage 1 powermax, and Looney wild, 325/65R18

I think for stock injectors you would want a sxe362. If going bigger down the road you could get by with the 364.5 but might be a touch slower spooling on stock sticks

I'm sold on the new 369sxe from BW. Performed damn well with 238/100s towing HEAVY HEAVY. Enough my 2nd gen 366 will be updated as well. Pretty damn impressive turbo especially considering the price tag. It out flows the older small 4 series units as well. If you are updating to a t4 kit and a bit more fuel take a look.

Ok thanks for 362 suggestion. I'll look into it. But I'm sure within the next 50k miles I'll have to be looking towards injectors, and I'll have what I need to support them. When I had the ts 6 chip my turbo would shutter and bark. Even without it when pulling it does it.

Being that you need UP's, DP, and IC piping, you might as well go T4. By the time you get all of that and a turbo, you are right at T4 cost anyway.
