Just put a new short block in bored .020 over with stock pistons with lips machined off. Reman ford heads cause old ones were cracked and 60 over nozzles. Started it up for the first time at it idled ok took it for a drive and once under load it would miss and white smoke bad. So pulled the injectors and sent off to be flowed and had to flow bad so replaced with new. Then started up and it ran bad and smoked at idle. So checked compression on all cylinders and they are all 260 psi which is low, also while I had the injector out I bore scoped the holes and everything looks perfect. Not sure whats going on with this but its pissing me off. Any ideas on whats going on

same place that does rudys short blocks so im pretty sure its done right. Too me it seems like an injector problem cause once injectors were installed after testing it idles fine then put in under a load and then ran bad. Then this morning started it and it idled like s*** and was white smoking. So sometimes it runs ok at idle and other times it doesn't. Not really sure what I should do now.

HPFP? I've seen them do that before. Idle fine and other times idle like crap and white smoke. And usually drive like crap too.

How many miles are on the pump?

Your compression gauge could read low. It is telling you each cylinder is retaining the same compression. Rings not fully seated could be the reason for low compression. As for the miss, someone else will chime in.

If all cylinders are low on compression I wouldn't worry. But I would Def check all of them.

Do you get any codes when it smokes?

If you do swap injectors for one cylinder to the other and see if the code follows the injector or stays with the cylinder. Then if it does follow the injector swap nozzles and see if it follows the injector or the nozzle

So can you smell what type of smoke it is? Oil fuel or coolant?

Have you actually checked codes after it smokes? A contribution code wont throw a CEL but it will log a code, that will at least narrow down the cylinder, and by the sounds of it with that much smoke there should be a code

Any rebuilt/ new motor will take time for the rings to seat etc. As far as the missing goes, that is not normal. I would run a contribution test and see what shows up

Maybe try and find another member near your area that can do it? I believe powerstrokecowboy is in montana, i realize he could be anywhere on the state, but would be worth a shot. Im not positive thats him, but I think thats his name on here, or maybe old man dave...
