So I pulled the rear block on my 17' F350 and it now sits DEAD level. 1/8" or less difference from front to rear.

5600# Coils are what's in front from the factory. Looking at going down to 5200# or 4800# lb coils.

I really only need about an inch of drop in the front.

Jomax is the only person I know on here that has done this as well but his is a 250 so there are some minor differences.

Anyone know how much drop occurs with the difference springs on the newer trucks?

I wanna do 5200# and hope it's enough but then I'm afraid it won't hardly change since that's what comes factory on the newer F250s (from what I'm seeing)

I'm wondering if 4800# will be too much drop.

Only want to do this once so I can get the shocks ordered for the truck once the front is dropped.

When you did that. Did you do anything about the bump stops ? They looked awfully close already on our new work truck that I wouldn't mind lowering some.
Jomax did 4400# springs actually. He trimmed his front stops down I believe.

I went with 4400 springs. I only left about A 1/4in of my bumpstops.

Before I cut them I cycled the axle without coils and without bump-stops, the axle doesn’t hit anywhere. It’s close for sure but doesn’t hit. So I knew I could cut as much as needed. It does hit harder when I do bottom out as there isn’t much cushion. But that’s rare with the kings. I actually have more up travel now then when it was stock.

Stock has a pathetic 1.5in of up travel before it hits the bumpstops. I now have 2.5in.

Also, I don’t think I’d ever lower a truck with 2in diameter shocks. Being you’re going to softer coils, I think it would bottom out way to much. Haven’t tried it personally though. I LOVE my Kings.

So I went with 4800 coils. It turned out perfect for me. Cut 1.25" out of factory bump stops.

And for anyone who is wondering what U-Bolts to use for removing the rear block on a 17+ F350 with top overloads, use these. These are the correct U-Bolts.

If you have an F250 or a truck that DOES NOT have top overloads, you'll need a different code of U-Bolts. These are for 350's only with top overloads. Just FYI
