I did SPE bypass for the locker a long time ago. And something got messed up and it was locked all the time.... So I just left it and drifted everywhere haha.

thats awesome. and like the others said , and i missed, the bearings are for sure a good idea to swap while you're there if it has over 30k on them, and on hand just in case there is damage when pulling or pressing them . i just havent had a truck with that many miles, ever , so it doesn't usually apply to me.

I've had a truetrac in two superduty's now and it is the best street carrier on earth IMO. Just goes. Hardly ever opens under power.

A word of caution though, I broke some kind of snap ring on my first one, although it never stopped working, and it's still in the truck to this day about a decade later, but.... there was a large broken ring in the bottom of the case on an oilchange after some loud popping when towing.

Point being, when you have a lot of trailer tongue weight, go real easy pulling out if you're turning out onto the road 90 degrees. Tires can't slide and the carrier will try to lock up.

As for the bearings, sometimes it's nice to grab two carrier bearings just for the ease of install without even having to dick with knifing the old ones off the original carrier...

Where did you order your master install kit from?

I got the G2 Gear and Axle master install kit. I refuse to use anything but Timken bearings on Fords sooo......

The kit itself and the locker I ordered through a well renowned 4x4 shop local to me.

Best price online I ever saw was through Summit for the Locker. Install kit can be sourced many places. That Randy's R&P Ive heard of before. Check them out.

So I got my truetrac in today! So far very happy with it. Install went OK. I was told when I ordered it that my rear end would have adjusters to center the locker... But it had shims. Thankfully the factory ones worked. If I knew it had shims I would have got spares or ordered a master kit. But I also should have paid attention when I had the cover off the first time. But it works so no harm no foul. Just a heads up to anyone else that does this!

Haha nothing spectacular. Went on a quick test drive to make sure it wasn't locked all the time.... Then fish tailed it on the way back to make sure it locked when I wanted!! Lol
