I have the h&s mini maxx, race tuner on my 08 6.4.. I hate how long it takes to shift in my truck.. Do you guys know of any custom tunes that shift faster/better? I have a stock trans. Thanks !

Check out Gearhead, most people on here love them and his transmission tuning/strategies are much improved over H&S Files. I will be ordering some tunes shortly from him as well

Another vote for Gearhead tunes. I credit his tunes for keeping my stock trans alive for two years and even after drag strip passes and a lot of sled pulling

Gearhead all the way. Night and day difference

Another vote for Gearhead! Matt can fix up some tune files to your liking. Just seen on SPE's FB page that they're playing with some 6.4 MCC tuning.

Another vote for Gearhead. I can't tell you how many times me and Matt Robinson have emailed back and forth.. He's even made a few changes for me and never would charge me for it despite my efforts.

On a side note, you can pick through several different shift strategies within your Minimax that will shift at different times.....

That's the thing about his tunes. They are a good bit of money to start with but it's free to have them tweaked and changed as you make upgrades

How do I get to this? I've messed with it before just never saw where I can actually change the shifting times

update your tuner and you'll have all the canned shift options available

try shift schedule 2. 5th gear lock only on the medium shift point.

We'll I did that, and i definitely see a difference. I like it much better. Although the shifting seems a little rough on my stock trans..

the shifting might seem harsh, but there have been many miles put on those tunes... are they perfect? no

but, within reason, a firmer shift is better for the transmission as you are reducing slippage on clutch engagement

glad you like S2M. it's my favorite canned shift schedule for daily driving and lower elevation towing. in the mountains, 4th gear lockup can be a necessity

Ended up going with gearhead tuning and wow... I definitely feel a power difference. I like the shifting a lot more. But I've only ran the shifting on t-REG so far. Stock tranny
