So my cold related brake problems have subsided. I now have another issue starting. When I hit the brakes, the pedal drops quicker then normal, and is slow to come back. Sometimes I need to help it back up with my foot. The braking system is old, and I'm sure mostly original, but I'm bad with brake issues and not sure on what part needs replaced. Booster, master, something else ?

Sounds like a bad master cylinder but check the pedal assembly first to make sure the rod the pedal swings on isn't rusted. I just had that issue. Disconnect the rod from the master and move the pedal back and forth to check for binding. While your under the dash look where the rod comes through the firewall for brake fluid leaking from the master cylinder.

Your pedal assembly may be worn out. Mine is ;)
